Junior High Learning Consultation

JHS English Diagnostic Report (Free, 15 minutes)

Before high-school entrance prep starts in earnest,
let's map your child's English growth points.

Fifteen minutes to see where your child stands — and what comes next.

Junior high is where English shifts from "fun subject" to "graded subject." Vocabulary load triples, grammar gets abstract, and many parents tell us it becomes hard to know exactly where their child is struggling.

This consultation is a focused 15-minute dialogue diagnostic. You'll leave with two short documents — a Diagnostic Report and a Learning Roadmap — sent the same day via LINE. It's not a trial lesson and not a sales pitch. The goal is simply to give your family a clear picture of your child's current English and a sensible direction for the months ahead.

Free, no sales pressure, one family per day by appointment. Take your time — we'll have the room to ourselves.

Three things this consultation reveals

  • How well textbook vocabulary and key expressions have stuck — whether words your child has been taught actually surface naturally in conversation.
  • The basics of pronunciation through short read-alouds — what's clear, what's habitual, what's worth attention.
  • How smoothly your child can hold a simple English exchange — handling questions, repairing mistakes, keeping the conversation moving.

This is not a test or a graded assessment. The goal is to identify points worth attention and the genuine growth areas already visible.

What the 15 minutes look like

  • 1. Light opening (2–3 minutes) — a friendly chat about school, English so far, and what's been on your child's mind. Lowers nerves before anything else starts.
  • 2. Short dialogue and read-aloud (6–7 minutes) — level-appropriate questions plus a brief textbook-level passage to read aloud.
  • 3. Repair and recovery check (3–4 minutes) — when your child gets stuck, how do they get unstuck? Observed in conversation, not tested.
  • 4. Mapping the direction (2 minutes) — together with you and your child, we name what to focus on next.

I take notes throughout. Japanese is welcome at any point.

What you take home

After the consultation, on the same day, I'll send the following two documents to you via LINE so your family can read them at home in your own time.

Diagnostic Report

  • Three observations on current understanding (vocabulary, pronunciation, exchange)
  • The points worth attention and the growth areas seen during the conversation
  • Notes useful for your family's own thinking

Learning Roadmap

  • How to build a textbook read-aloud habit — what, when, how much
  • The grammar points worth prioritizing now, by school year
  • Practice methods that build on what your child is already good at

The diagnostic and learning plan I normally produce as part of the first lesson after enrollment (included in the ¥8,000 entrance fee) are offered here in a simplified form, free of charge.

What you can do afterward

  1. Read the report at home with your child. Use it as a reference for whatever you decide to do next — at school, with us, or elsewhere.
  2. Try the roadmap suggestions. Most are home-friendly: read-aloud habits, vocabulary review, light grammar focus.
  3. If our approach looks like a fit, take the next step. A free trial lesson or a look at our Junior High course are both options — but only if you want them.

Receiving the report does not commit you to anything. "We're just looking right now" and "we want to compare other options" are both completely fine reasons to come.

One family per day, by appointment

So we have time to talk properly, I keep this to one family per day. Please share two or three possible time slots when you reach out — it makes scheduling easier.
