Adult English Conversation Classes in Fujieda

A calm, small classroom where adults actually get to speak.

If you haven't used English since your school days, you're in good company. I keep adult classes to six students or fewer, so nobody spends the lesson just listening. I've lived in Japan since 1990 and I'm TESOL-certified, and when a Japanese explanation would help, I give one.

Who these classes are for

  • Restarting after years away (classes run from beginner to advanced)
  • Travelers (we practise hotels, restaurants, and getting around)
  • Working adults (start with conversation, before business English)
  • Anyone who wants the same teacher every year (you get me, and I don't rotate out)
  • Learners in their 60s and beyond (there's a Senior Travel English course too)

Don't worry about your current level — the free trial finds the right class for you. The classroom is a shoji-screened washitsu, quiet enough that getting something wrong doesn't sting. Parking at the door is free.

Common questions from adult learners

I'm a complete beginner. Can I keep up?

Yes. Classes are divided by level from beginner to advanced, and the trial lesson's level check places you where you'll be comfortable. I speak Japanese, so you'll never be stuck with an explanation you can't follow.

What ages attend the adult classes?

Working adults through seniors learn together. For learners in their 60s and beyond who prefer a slower pace, the Senior Travel English course (max 3–5 students) is available.

Are there costs beyond the monthly fee?

Only the one-time ¥8,000 enrollment fee and your textbooks. No facility fees, no mandatory seasonal courses, and parking in front of the classroom is free.

Can I join online when work gets busy?

Yes. Every course works over Google Meet at the same price, and you can mix in-person and online lessons to fit your schedule.

What happens at the trial lesson?

A mini-lesson so you can feel the classroom atmosphere, plus a level check. It's free, and I won't pressure you to join.

What are the business hours?

Tuesday–Friday 10:00–21:00 and Saturday 10:00–18:00. Adult classes run in morning, afternoon, and evening time slots.
